Big Changes

Lots of changes, most notably the name has been changed from Flying Fig Photography to Tracey Leigh Photography. Why you may ask? I made the decision to expand and I felt a name change was needed in order to target a larger market.

I wasn't sure what I should do? Should I scrap the blog and start a new one with the new name? I had already begun to neglect the blog in favor of posts on the Facebook Fanpage which has a very healthy following.

With Facebook, Pinterest, and the website did I really need a blog too? I didn't want to take the blog down as I know there are a few helpful tutorials that remain popular linked back to the blog pages through sites like Pinterest.  I appreciate your kind comments and loyal following I'd sure love to see you stop by and follow me at my Facebook Fanpage. I've been super busy perfecting the art....

Upcycled Tie Necklace - Bo Peep Knitted Scarf

I've had several requests to see the tie necklace in action. Link in the previous post on how to make one of your very own. Of course the concept is to upcycle a tie that is wasting away in the wings... but I LOVED this tie. I had visions of how lovely it would look on Alyssa... what do you think?

I'm obsessive about making props and accessories for all of my sessions to give them a little something special.... I found this adorable scarf pattern on Etsy called Bo Peep and whipped it up for the session.

A working vacation

On my last visit home I had the opportunity to photograph some of my sweet family.  I loved every minute that I got to spend behind the camera capturing their honest expressions.

I started off with my baby brother's baby.  She is such a living doll.

Next an afternoon playing with a few of my older brothers' kids and their kids

Lastly a day in the park with my little sissy...

Nostalgia - Senior Portraits Apollo Beach, Fl

My daughter and I have an obsession for all things vintage. We have been envisioning a 50's style photo shoot for ages as her senior portraits. I really felt like this style needed to be done in some kind of outdoor location.Imagine my utter ecstatic-ness when I came across this amazing place that looked like a postcard right out of the past. The dress is a vintage daydress I found on Etsy. The little basket purse was found at a vintage shoppe in downtown Salt Lake City. I hope you enjoy this little trip down memory lane...
