A dozen roses......fabric that is

These are simply the easiest fabric roses EVER! I have literally made tons of these in no time at all. Why oh why did I not do this before? I cannot believe I used to hand sew this little stinkers. I think I will glue metal prong clips to  the back of the flowers. Then I can easily clip them to headbands, hats, hair, and clothes. I puffy heart love these!!!

Good thing I'm a quilter... I have lots of scraps laying around. Make a your own bouquet today.  Best tutorial HERE! pssst she even has a video. Thank you Cherry Street Cottage!

Photography Packaging & Branding

I've finally settled on packaging. Like the branding the packaging has evolved many times. There are so many options available that it's hard to settle on just one that will forever represent your photography. Without further ado here are the items that my packaging consists of:
5x6 aqua blue boxes
Miller's Lab prints all of my ornate cards and business cards
Metallic orange posts (like the kind used for scrapbooks)
Handmade paper flowers
White tissue paper hand scalloped
Twine

Paper flowers are hand painted them assembled - Stem, Leaves, and Stamen are made from cardstock printed with Shakespearean play quotes

White tissue paper edges are hand-scalloped with simple white paper flower closure

Flying Fig CD Case

Custom Printed CDs based on one of my floral graphic designs. The case "swings" open to reveal the CD and copyright release

Informational cards will vary depending on the type of session. This picture shows the backside of the CD case with my custom designed photography subway art with matching shaped business cards all printed at Miller's Lab. Scallop edge referral card and newborn session information card

Copycat

I've finally finished my copycat version of the Pepperlu Ottoman!
These guys sell the most amazing faux floor mats and photography props but I just couldn't pay the $400 + shipping for this ottoman. Now, I can justify spending money on their floor mats... there's no way I can make a ginormous mouse pad that looks like real wood flooring. But the pouf...now that I can figure out a way.

The Pepperlu Ottoman

the Pepperlu Ottoman in action...

Now for how I obtained my copycat version: I started off with Amy Butler's Gum Drop Pillow pattern and tweaked it a little to make it closer to the dimensions of the Pepperlu Ottoman. The pillow form is sewn using Kona Solids white cotton fabric.

Next cut out a bazillion felt circles with this handy little tool by Olfa.

Finally, the tedious task of sewing all the little circles by hand forming flowers layer by layer. These are then attached to the pouf.

Voila... my copycat version
